"When Jesus saw all of the people, he had compassion on them..."
Twenty-Five Thousand Prayers
Project 938 will have its first official launch gathering on Sunday, February 4, 2018 (Super Bowl Sunday!). Prior to launch, we are conducting three direct mail campaigns to 25,000 homes in the greater West Chester area. By and large, a consistent direct mail strategy continues to lead the way in terms of marketing a church prior to its first service. And so do door hangers and in-person invite cards. Ultimately, we believe we have the right marketing strategy to reach people in our region.
But, what if we did more than just send mailers to people?
As a community, we believe in the power of prayer. And God led us to an idea to do something bigger than just direct mail. Starting on January 6th, we are empowering individuals, families, and churches to join us in Twenty-Five Thousand Prayers. Yes, 25,000! The same 25,000 homes we mail, we want to pray over. We are asking people to join us in praying for God’s love to be known over 25,000 homes as we leave invite cards at doorsteps.
How does it work?
We have 75 routes that include 25,000 homes. Every Saturday starting on January 6th, we will gather at the Wegman’s cafe in Glen Mills starting at 9:30am. Teams of two or more will pick a route, collect a stack of invite cards, and head to their route. Once they get to their route, they will begin walking their route, slipping an invite card at the door of every home, and praying a blessing on the home. The purpose is not to knock on doors. The purpose is to pray.
Plan for a brisk walk, a transforming experience, and an opportunity to extend Christ’s love on our community.
